Very early on Saturday morning, Dan got up and headed out to the Apple store – to sit in line and wait for the iPad that he had preordered. Ever since the announcement, the phrase ‘Internet in your hands’ has been a constant chorus around here. But hopefully, this device will be what he has been looking for for a year, something that is easily portable that he can write his blog articles on, and read what he wants to read.
Now, he’s been very generous in giving me time with it. I was interested in the e-reader function of the device. I have a Kindle and love it very much, but it really only does one thing. So, a bit of this will touch on what I thought of the e-reader capabilities.

So we got a snowstorm this weekend. Which meant from Friday night after seeing Avatar, we didn’t leave the house until about 2pm today. And was I a productive domestic goddess? NO. Being a Modern Domestic Geek, means that sometimes you let someone else do the cooking. Tonight was the case – I’d done some pretty heavy duty cooking all week – attempting a Julia recipe, making a casserole from the tried and true Bisquick cookbook, and pork chops. But tonight – I had cooking doldrums – not knowing what I wanted to cooking, and knowing that I didn’t have anything thawed. My initial plan was to go to the grocery store after work, and get some fresh ingredients.
But instead, my lovely husband suggested we get take out. Probably not the most economical, but hey – it’s nice to have a break. For this night’s fare, we chose the new place in town, South Ocean – a Chinese and Japanese place that has eat in as well as take out. Now I’d gotten take out from there before, and it was delicious, but this was the first time feeding the family.
